As of October 6, 2026, Turkish language support will be added to Turnitin’s AI Writing Detection feature.
Turnitin’s AI Writing Detection feature currently supports English, Spanish, Japanese, and Arabic. With this update, Turkish, German, and Dutch will also be added, bringing the total number of supported languages to seven.
AI Writing Detection reports will not be generated retrospectively for Turkish-language submissions uploaded to Turnitin before October 6, 2026. In order for a previously submitted Turkish-language paper to be analyzed using the AI Writing Detection feature, it must be resubmitted to Turnitin after October 6, 2026.
Once the update becomes available, our academic staff will be able to use Turnitin’s AI Writing Detection results to identify text within Turkish-language submissions that may have been generated by artificial intelligence.
