Our library has a corporate membership to Boğaziçi University Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired (GETEM), which contains over 40,000 audio works.
The internet library project, designed by Boğaziçi University Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired (GETEM), aims to provide access to information resources for the visually impaired. This project includes not only visually impaired people (whose number is around 400 thousand in Turkey) but also individuals who cannot benefit from printed resources (paralyzed, dyslexic) due to other types of disability. The publications in the library are mainly in Turkish and English. In addition to stories, novels, and poetry books, there are course materials (books, articles, lecture notes) taught in educational institutions at all levels, records of some lectures and conferences, and additional scientific articles and books. In addition to these, many different contents such as radio theaters, mp3 versions of movies with Audio Description, audio computer and smart device narrations have taken their place in the GETEM catalogue.
